Frequently asked questions
How do I copy all the text from a PDF on my phone?
Select the PDF and tap Get text. When it finishes, tap the copy button to put all the text on your clipboard, or download it as a .txt file.
Is the formatting kept when I extract text?
No. You get plain text with line breaks, so bold, fonts, colours, tables and pictures are not included. Use PDF to Word if you want headings and lists kept.
Can I see where each page starts in the text?
Yes. Turn on "Mark where each page starts" and a line such as "--- Page 2 ---" is added before every page.
How do I get text from a scanned PDF?
A scanned PDF holds pictures, not text, so there is nothing to extract. Use OCR PDF instead, which reads the words from the images.
Is there a page limit for extracting text?
No fixed limit. Text extraction is quick even for long PDFs, and very large files only depend on your device's memory.
Why does the text from my two-column PDF look jumbled?
Text is taken in the order it is stored inside the PDF, which is usually reading order but not always. Some layouts with columns, sidebars or text boxes can come out in an unexpected order.
Can I paste the extracted text into WhatsApp or an email?
Yes. Copy the text and paste it into WhatsApp, Gmail, Notes or any app. On a phone you can also share the downloaded .txt file directly.
Are my files uploaded anywhere?
No. The file is processed inside your browser on your own phone or computer. Nothing is sent to a server, so it is safe for Aadhaar, PAN, bank statements and other private documents.
Is it free? Do I need to sign up?
It is completely free, with no sign-up, no watermark and no daily limit.
