Frequently asked questions
What is the password of my Aadhaar PDF?
e-Aadhaar PDFs are locked with the first 4 letters of your name in CAPITAL letters followed by your year of birth. Example: name Suresh Kumar, born 1992 → SURE1992.
Can you open it without the password?
No. You must know the password; we only save an unlocked copy for you.
Is my file uploaded?
Your file is never uploaded. Everything happens inside your browser on your own phone or computer. The file never leaves your device, so it's safe for identity and financial documents.
What if I have forgotten the PDF password?
Then this tool cannot help. It removes a password you type in and does not guess or crack passwords. Ask the sender, or download a fresh copy from the bank or portal.
What is the password for my e-Aadhaar PDF?
The first four letters of your name as on Aadhaar in capital letters, followed by your year of birth, for example RAHU1990.
What is the password for my bank statement PDF?
Each bank sets its own format, often built from part of your name, date of birth, customer ID or mobile number. The format is usually written in the email the statement came with.
Why can I open my PDF but not print or copy from it?
The file has restrictions but no opening password. Unlock PDF detects this and saves a copy without those limits; you don't need to type anything.
Why does it say my password is wrong when I'm sure it is right?
Passwords are case-sensitive, so check capital letters, and check the date format, such as DDMMYYYY versus DDMMYY. A space before or after also counts.
Will unlocking change anything in my document?
No. Pages, text and images stay the same. The copy simply opens without asking for a password.
Is it legal to remove a password from a PDF?
Removing the password from your own documents, such as your bank statement or e-Aadhaar, is fine. Only unlock files you have the right to use.
