Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between extracting images and PDF to JPG?
Extract images saves the photos that were placed inside the PDF, on their own. PDF to JPG takes a picture of each whole page, including its text.
Are the extracted images the same quality as the originals?
Yes. JPEG photos are saved exactly as they are stored in the PDF, with no re-compression. Other images are saved as lossless PNG.
Why did it find no images in my PDF?
The pictures may be drawn as shapes, or stored in a format this tool cannot save yet, such as CMYK print images or some black-and-white scanner formats. Use PDF to JPG to save the whole pages instead.
Why are small logos and icons missing from the results?
Images smaller than 32 pixels, such as bullets and icons, are skipped by default. Turn on "Include small images" to get them too.
Why do I get several strips instead of one photo?
Some PDF makers split one picture into several pieces. Each piece is a separate image inside the file, so it comes out as a separate image.
Are transparent images kept transparent?
No. Transparency is not kept, so a logo with a see-through background will come out with a solid background.
How do I download all the images at once?
Download them one by one, or tap the ZIP option to get every image in a single file. On a phone you can also share them straight to WhatsApp or your gallery where your browser allows it.
Are my files uploaded anywhere?
No. The file is processed inside your browser on your own phone or computer. Nothing is sent to a server, so it is safe for Aadhaar, PAN, bank statements and other private documents.
Is it free? Do I need to sign up?
It is completely free, with no sign-up, no watermark and no daily limit.
