How are headings and lists detected in Markdown?
Headings are worked out from larger font sizes, and lines starting with bullets or numbers become Markdown lists. Paragraphs broken across pages are joined back together.

Are tables turned into Markdown tables?

Does the Markdown include images or bold text?
No. You get the text with headings, lists and paragraphs only. Images, bold, italics and links are not included.
Why is Markdown better than plain text for AI tools?
The headings and lists tell the AI how the document is organised, so it can follow sections more easily than a block of plain text.
Why do some symbols have a backslash in front of them?
Characters such as * or # are escaped with a backslash so they show as normal text instead of being treated as Markdown formatting. Markdown viewers hide the backslash.
Does PDF to Markdown work on scanned notes?
Only after OCR. A scan has no text inside, so run OCR PDF first and then convert the searchable PDF.
Are my files uploaded anywhere?
