UK documents
The paperwork letting agents, lenders and new employers ask for. Every file stays on your phone or computer.
P60
Your P60 shows your pay and the tax deducted in the tax year ending 5 April. Employers must give it to you by 31 May. It's common proof of income for mortgages, loans and tax refunds.
P45
You get a P45 when you leave a job. You keep Part 1A and give Parts 2 and 3 to your new employer (or Jobcentre Plus), so they can use the right tax code from your first payday.
Payslips
Payslips show your pay, tax and National Insurance for each pay period. Letting agents and mortgage lenders usually ask for the last three months.
Council tax bill
A council tax bill is one of the most accepted proofs of address in the UK – for banks, DBS checks, letting agents and the DVLA. Most organisations want one from the current year.
Tenancy agreement
Most private renters in England sign an assured shorthold tenancy agreement. Agents often email it as a PDF to sign before you move in.
UK driving licence
The UK photocard driving licence is widely accepted as photo ID and proof of address – but most checks accept it for only one of the two, not both.
Universal Credit statement
Your Universal Credit statement in your online account shows each payment and how it was worked out. Landlords, councils and banks may ask for it as proof of income.
DBS certificate
A DBS certificate shows the result of a criminal record check. It arrives on paper, so employers and agencies often ask for a scanned copy.

Frequently asked questions
What is the password for my payslip or P45 PDF?
There's no national format – each employer's payroll software sets its own, usually your date of birth, National Insurance number or employee number. The email it came with normally says which.
What proof of address do UK letting agents accept?
Usually a council tax bill, utility bill or bank statement from the last three months, plus photo ID such as a passport or driving licence. Check with your agent.
Are my documents uploaded?
No. The file opens inside your browser and never leaves your phone or computer – there's no upload, no account and nothing for us to store. That's why it's safe for tax forms, ID and bank documents.
